ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit was filled with emotion while he honored his late dog, Ben, during “College GameDay” on Nov. 9.

Kirk Herbstreit paid tribute to his late dog Ben, who recently died, with an emotional televised segment ahead of the LSU and Alabama football game on Saturday, Nov. 9.

As much as Saturday’s broadcast of ESPN’s College GameDay was a tribute to LSU’s football culture, it was also a celebration of life for Ben Herbstreit, the faithful golden retriever and travel companion of Kirk Herbstreit who’d become a star in his own right for hanging out on set and in the broadcast booth.

Another week has come and gone with college football, but this time it was a little different for the College Gameday crew. Ben, the famous dog of Kirk Herbstreit, passed away earlier this week, leaving the college football world in shock.
