Westfield High School senior Brandon Genlot, who died Monday in a crash in the Watchung Reservation, is being remembered by family and friends for his smile and gentle, compassionate nature as well as his athletic skills on the volleyball court.

Brandon was an amazing person,” Westfield boys volleyball coach Ed Saggio said. “It was a true pleasure working with him and watching him grow into the young man he became.

Brandon Genlot, a senior at Westfield High School, died in a car crash on Monday, Nov. 11, at the age of 17, according to his obituary from the Higgins and Bonner Funeral Home website and Union County Police.

Union County police responded to a one-vehicle accident in Watchung Reservation, Scotch Plains, finding the vehicle and surrounding area engulfed in flames.
