India batter Shubman Gill revealed a hilarious story about Rishabh Pant from the Chennai Test match. Shubman said that he asked Rishabh Pant to calm down after the wicketkeeper came to tap bats while celebrating during their partnership.

Chennai: Shubman Gill on Saturday went old-school in using his feet to nullify Bangladesh spinners on a pitch that had a hint of variable bounce, and the India batter said it was a part of his meticulous approach to unsettle the visiting tweakers.

Sachin Tendulkar commended Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill for their stellar performances in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. Gill scored an unbeaten 119, while Pant hit a commendable knock of 109 runs.

Shubman Gill admitted that the series against England, where he scored nearly 500 runs, boosted his self-confidence in the longest format of the game.
