Feb 28, 2014 · A Bell Aircraft Corporation X-1 series aircraft on display at an Open House at NACA’s Muroc Flight Test Unit (now NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center) in Edwards, California. The aircraft carried about 500 pounds of instrumentation. The X-1-1 was delivered by Bell in December 1945.
